Ballyshannon Drama Society: The Specialist by Charles Sale
Comedy
Inspired by a carpenter from his hometown of Urbana, Illinois, Charles Sale wrote The Specialist, a play about an outhouse builder. He said “Lem Putt -- that wasn’t his real name -- really lived. He was just as sincere in his work as a great painter whose heart is in his canvas; and in this little sketch I have simply tried to bring to you recollections of a man I once knew, who was so rich in odd and likeable traits of character as to make a most lasting impression on my memory”.
“A gentle education in the nature of humour”. --Terry Pratchet
Erne Drama Group: Waiting For You by Mark O’Leary
The doctor’s waiting room contains all types of ailments and people. Perhaps some ailments can be cured with love. This play tells the story of two strangers who meet in a doctor’s waiting room, both unhappy with the directions in which their lives are heading. Will their interactions with each other, as well as with their eccentric fellow patients, change their outlook?
Please note this play contains minimal reference to an adult theme.
