Fermanagh Film Club presents SAINT MAUD
Mysterious young nurse Maud (Morfydd Clark) takes up the position of a carer for terminally-ill dancer Amanda (Jennifer Ehle). Amanda lives in a creepy gothic house near the sea, but this doesn’t put Maud off. For Maud, it is all part of the challenge sent to her by God, as part of a long-awaited special mission.
But when Amanda chooses to live her final days to excess, the two women clash and it soon becomes apparent that the devout nurse will go to any lengths to save her patient’s soul.
Featuring exceptional performances from Clark and Ehle, this impressive debut feature from British writer-director Rose Glass is an extraordinary psychological horror that manages to both thrill and upend expectations.
