Jazz Juniors Workshop

Tickets available

MOBO-Award nominated jazz musician David Lyttle will take a break from his 20 - country 2022 tour to visit the Ardhowen Theatre on August 20th for a jazz workshop for young people. He’ll also talk about the innovative new NI youth scheme Jazz Juniors, which is now entering its second year. No experience in jazz is necessary to take part in the workshop and friends and family of interested young people are also welcome to attend. Participants in the workshop should register by booking a ticket below.

Programmed by NI talent development organisation Jazzlife Alliance, whose principal funder is the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Jazz Juniors is Northern Ireland’s first dedicated jazz improvisation scheme for under 18s. It’s second ensemble will be selected following a nationwide search for talent in August and will begin training in September.

The scheme includes monthly ensemble coaching with David Lyttle at Belfast’s MAC, individual mentoring, participation in masterclasses with acclaimed jazz musicians and performances nationwide.

More information is available at www.jazzlifealliance.org and expressions of interest can be emailed to join@jazzlifealliance.org.
