About

Tim Firth’s "Calendar Girls" brings to life the bittersweet and inspirational journey of a group of Yorkshire women who captured hearts globally with their unconventional method of raising money for cancer research. From the screen to the stage, every iteration of this story has resonated with audiences.
Calendar Girls is a heart warming comedy based on the true story of members of a Yorkshire Women's Institute (WI), led by Chris and Annie, who pose "artistically nude" for a charity calendar to raise money for leukaemia research following the premature death of Annie's husband John.

The original project led by Angela Baker (1999) raised over £6 million. It is a story of friendship, love and community, celebrating the glorious nature of mature women.

Derrylin Amateur Dramatic Society are delighted that SWELL Fermanagh Cancer Support Charity, will be the recipients of their fundraising production. We would like to highlight this amazing voluntary managed service being provided in Fermanagh.

SWELL (Supported We Live Life) and their provision of "Social Medicine" consists of peer support and advice, a lifeline for individuals and families affected by cancer.
