Tutored Life Drawing Sessions – (3 Week Course)

Class Content: 6x 1-minute gestural poses/ 3x 2-minute gestural poses/ 2x 5-minute poses/ 2x 10-minute poses. Break for feedback & engagement. 1x 20-minute light & shadow study. Feedback.

Jim Cullen (BA Hons Degree) is a classically trained animator graduating in 1999 from the renowned Ballyfermot College of Animation.  With 25 years in the industry, he has over time channelled his experience into designing and teaching his own courses on numerous subjects from Pencil Drawing to 3D Concept Art. Jim also offers unique Life Drawing classes where he is both the model & tutor and presently runs a regular weekly slot at the Cavan Townhall Arts Centre.

The Ardhowen life drawing class is open to all levels, to newcomers who ‘can’t draw a straight line’ to seasoned professionals. Part of the class is allocated to Feedback and also when attendees are encouraged to engage their fellow artists and their sketches in order to learn from each other and build a relaxed friendly camaraderie. Hopefully there will be a sufficient demand to continue the Ardhowen life drawing on a regular ongoing basis.

Tip: Beginners, the bigger your paper size the better. Preferably min A3, or bigger. Do not buy overly expensive sketch pads. Purchase them in pound shops. Ideally use cheap newsprint, or a popular one is the back of unused wallpaper.
